Video Specs

We compiled an asset checklist for your video campaign to help you get off to the right start.

Virool accepts YouTube, BrightCove, Wistia and Vimeo links as well as VAST and VPAID tags. If necessary, Virool will encode your video. Here are the specs for your video:

  • Preferred Format: MPEG4
  • Allowed extensions: AIV, MOV, MP4
  • Max Size: 500 MB
  • Resolution minimum: 854 x 480
  • Resolution maximum: 1920 x 1080
  • Preferred Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Bit Rate: 600 — 1000 KBS

Below is a list of general clickthrough / tracking / sharing guidelines:

  • Click URL or third party redirect
  • Virool supports all major click/impression pixel providers (e.g. DFP, Atlas, Sizmek, etc.)
  • One click pixel per campaign
  • Third party pixel trackers
  • Format 1x1 pixels only. No JavaScript tags
  • Maximum 5 third-party trackers per campaign
  • Third party trackers can be fired on impression, view, or completion
  • Tags must support secure (https) environments
  • When used for billing purposes, client must provide 3rd party reporting access to Virool for duration of campaign. Schedule automated reporting to be delivered to adops@virool.com or provide access by setting up an account for reports@virool.com


For campaigns using the YouTube player, please ensure that Google Ads are disabled for all YouTube videos being promoted via Virool.
